Meet the inventor

Doug Robinson picked up his first trowel in 1973 as a young, novice brick mason. Within six months, his work was in a class of its own. That craftsmanship became Robinson Construction Company, built on artistic stonework and a reputation for solving the problems other contractors couldn't.

Over the years, that reputation opened doors to complex, high-profile work. Projects include the UTSW water feature, a complicated 100,000 sf seeded, washed-aggregate retaining wall surrounding an Armenian college; high-end residential projects; and demanding commercial jobs that called for real creative problem-solving. That same restless, solution-finding mind is what led to Unique Ingenuity.

Doug's imagination has been at work since childhood, always drawn to building better answers for everyday problems. His first invention was a reimagined wheelbarrow which was built after watching standard models break down within months on job sites. His patented version was engineered to hold up under heavy, constant use, and has been shipped across the U.S. over the past 20 years, still standing the test of time.
